In our own words – Shirley Aponte Speaks at the State Board of Education For Batchelder School

On May 2, 2018, Parents for Batchelder attended the State Board of Education meeting to ask Commissioner Wentzell to move forward on our complaint to save Batchelder School. Parent leader Shirley Aponte requested that the Commissioner move forward and investigate our complaint. View her comments and read her testimony below.

  1. This is the way Education Reformers work, Shirley Aponte is no different than tens of thousands of other parents in Black, Brown, and Poor Public School Districts. No Ed Reformers, informs them, no Ed Reformers, listens to them, no Ed Reformers cares about what they think…their schools, their lives, their children are pawns to power and money.

  2. The parents of Batchler should ask the state to take over the Board and stop the shadey dealings going on . There was a time back when Stallings was for the parents know he’s for his own ego . The Board knows it’s wrong but it’s all about the dollars . The parents should ask the Superintendent and Stallings to resign they seem to forget their there for the kids and the parents of Hartford not to improve their careers buy cutting deals
